Aleister's personal and philosophical observations at the Old Absinthe House in New Orleans, circa World War I. Absinthe is a green liqueur with an anise or licorice taste. Bottom edge at rear panel shows an old stain (previous owner thinks burned -- I do not) and it appears to be a varnish or chemical stain that penetrates a half inch or so into the rear pages beginning at Mr. Crowley's catalogue with some evidence also on the rear cloth panel; internally very crisp and free of any marking; some foxing to the tissue covering Crowley's portrait at the frontis piece; the stunning front panel is wholly intact ; A VERY GOOD+ or better copy. 168 pages plus addenda.
