THE HERMETIC JOURNAL: A Quarterly Dedicated to the Hermetic Tradition.

Edinburgh: Megalithic Research Publications, 1978-1992. Item #16953

A VERY GOOD+ to FINE SET of this prize journal consisting of the forty two single issues, plus the four annuals issued 1989-92 as bound volumes in wraps, sans only one single issue, Number 33 [Autumn, 1986]. The set is unruffled, clean, and without markings or defect, and presents an extraordinary example of dedication on the part of Mr. McLean who sacrificed much to bring alchemy to the 20th century. In his editorial from the first page of his 1978 inaugural issue, he says, "This Hermetic Journal has been established with the spiritual task of assisting in the rediscovery of the wisdom woven into Hermeticism, and the particular spiritual discipline of Alchemy." All issued include appropriate illustrations, book reviews, articles by the well known, and many lesser lights, but all with quality. Some of the contributors: Stephen Skinner, R.A. Gilbert, Joscelyn Godwin, Hans Nintzel, Elemire Zolla, Joseph Ritman, Rafal Prinke, Stephen Ronan, Kenneth Clark, Gareth Knight, Ithell Colqhoun, Patricia Tahil, Nicholas Tereschenko, Graham Knight, Robin Waterfield and many others. More than 2000 pages. Octavo.

Price: $966.00
