A FINE CLOTH COPY. This new Fredrik Söderberg book contains paintings and sketches based on his travels to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. A journey of searching the past seeking the collective dark undercurrents running parallel to exoteric history. His works show the movements, religious groups and the individuals who were at the root of the coming alternative and psychedelic culture of the 1960s. The artist carries us to places like the utopian collective, Monte Verita, at Ascona, the author Ernst Jünger's home in Wilflingen, Rudolf Steiner's spiritual center, the Goetheanum, the Heidegger cottage in the Schwarzwald, and the curious rock formation, Externsteine, in the mythical Teutoburger forest. The volume contains thirty-nine new paintings and several additional sketches. Introduction by art historian Ulrika Pilo. Please note that the introduction, and the text by Fredrik Söderberg in the book are in Swedish, but a translation of Söderberg's text in English has been produced as a numbered broadside, and has been laid in. 145 pages, indexed. 4to.
