MYTH AND ALLEGORY IN ANCIENT ART.
London: The Warburg Institute, 1939. FIRST EDITION. Linen cloth shows light handling; some foxing to the prelims; internals free of marking; VERY GOOD+ COPY. Thirty two full page plates. Inside the later printing done in wraps (1955) and very scarce itself, a slip was tipped at the title page saying, "The original blocks having been destroyed during the war, the present plates are reproduced by photographic process in order to make the book again available. January, 1955." The cloth 1939 edition is very scarce and the plates are reproduced properly in this original printing. (Item ID: 14882)
