Numerous plates and illustrations throughout in this work on the Chinese secret societies, their rituals and symbols, with Masonic undertones. The frontispiece of Volume I is a colored plate of "A Triad Plan of the Mystic Journey" as portrayed in the arrangement of the Lodge. These two Masonic scholars have produced a tour de force for studies of the Chinese societies, but also their relationship to Freemasonry and the Western Mysteries. Masonic bookseller A.
