THE HUNG SOCIETY, or The Society of Heaven and Earth. Three volumes, slip cased.
London: A. Lewis [Baskerville], 1925-26. Small folio printed black and red on Japanese paper; A FINE CLOTH SET in slipcase. Numerous plates and illustrations throughout in this work on the Chinese secret societies, their rituals and symbols, with Masonic undertones. The frontispiece of Volume I is a colored plate of "A Triad Plan of the Mystic Journey" as portrayed in the arrangement of the Lodge. These two Masonic scholars have produced a tour de force for studies of the Chinese societies, but also their relationship to Freemasonry and the Western Mysteries. Masonic bookseller A. Lewis bought the sheets and had them rebound later, thus one finds his name on lower spine. Cancelled title??? 554 pages. (Item ID: 16633)
