ABRAXAS SPECIAL ISSUE: LUMINOUS SCREEN - Film, the Occult and Possession.
London: Abraxas Journals, 2014. Limited Cloth Edition. A FINE COPY in premim cloth and dust jacket. LUMINOUS SCREEN is the second Special Issue of Abraxas, the first being CHARMING INTENTIONS in association with Cambridge University. It is a collection of essays commissioned by guest editor Jack Sargeant that seek to explore the impact of esotericism on cinema. Printed using state of the art offset lithography to our usual high standard; the subjects covered by Luminous Screen range from the early German expressionist cinema of F.W. Murnau, to the contemporary art house films of Lars von Trier. In each essay, esoteric themes within these works are identified and analyzed. Tall quarto volume using premium papers and Smythe-sewn as is the norm for ABRAXAS. 128 pages. (Item ID: FUL-Afd)
