THE ILLUSTRATED WHITE STAINS: The Literary Remains of George Archibald Bishop, A Neuropath of the Second Empire.

Stockholm: Edda Publishing, 2011. Limited to 418 hand-numbered copies. Custom end papers; ribbon marker; printed red and black; A FINE PREMIUM CLOTH COPY in fine dust jacket. Edited, with an introduction, by William Breeze. Fully illustrated by Fredrik Söderberg in six stunning watercolors, using a four color printing technique. Originally issued privately in 1898, Crowley used the pseudonym of George Archibald Bishop (a Neuropath of the Second Empire) as a veil. The name was taken from his mother's side of the family as her maiden name was Bishop. On the death of his father, Crowley was sent to live with his maternal uncle, Tom Bishop, who was by all accounts antagonistic towards the young Alexander. 109 pages. Small octavo. Item #18266
